God Over Porn began in January of 2013 with the story of Jarrad and Carmen Miller. Their personal journey through the devastation of pornography addiction, sexual sin and brokenness initially led to the formation of the ministry. A marriage is broken by infidelity. A woman is abused as a child. A pastor is forced from his ministry due to a pornography addiction. Such scenes are all too common.
To borrow an illustration from C. S. Lewis, sexual desire has become like a piano key that is played at all the wrong times. Though God designed it for beautiful melodies, it has instead soured the music. But there is good news. There is hope, because the gospel of Christ has the power to bind up every broken heart and heal every wound, and break the chains of any sexual sin. The Word of God tells us that Jesus died to reconcile the sexually broken to himself. At the cross, he poured out his blood to make them whole again and to purify, and ultimately restore.
God Over Porn seeks to reach those in the Church bound by sexual sin and pornography addiction, fostering a community of men and women that expresses love, grace, and hope to one another through online group support, bible studies, and workshops.
